Vacation abroad
We are in London, England. The weather here is a little on the cool side for summer. I am over my anxiety by now. (Thank goodness!) I am enjoying the time spent with family members as well as the restful vacation. Everyone is so excited. My children are getting aquainted and reacquainted with all of their family members. We will not have a chance to take the children sightseeing until after the party is over on Saturday. My mother in law's birthday party has developed a life of its own at this point. I am seeing all of the preparation that is going into this event. And I see that it is a big deal. A party hall has been rented and we are in the process of decorationing it. it is interesting to see how different cultures celebrate. I'll let you know how everything is progressing to the big event.

I was thinking that a story about this big party would be great for the assignment due week 5. I would love to hear more about the big event:)
ReplyDeleteDebra - I totally agree with Hilary about turning your observations and reflections into a finished piece. You offer an interesting perspective as you are "family" and an "outsider" at the same time. Maybe it's the London theme, but I'm picturing a "Bridget Jones' Diary" type commentary where we get your view of all that's going on around you...
ReplyDeleteA narrative might even be a good way to incorporate some of the images you capture in your poems?
Hilary and Katie,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your input. I think I would like to turn my observations about the party into a finished product for the week 5 assignment. I was also thinking about incorporating my other experiences here in London as well.
